Your Hands

Ever wonder why God leaves some prayers seemingly unanswered? Ever feel like you ask for things and just don’t get the answer you expected? Sometimes we treat prayer more like a slot-machine than a conversation. But how does God answer prayer anyway?  Continue reading

Shepherd, Sheep, & Savior

The Bible contains a lot of great nuggets of wisdom, and Luke is one of those writers that just seems to give us extra tidbits of information that make things really interesting. In worship, we’re discussing the stories in the book of Luke known as the lost parables.  Continue reading

Bulletproof

I remember as a child wanting to be Superman. I wanted to be this particular superhero because he was always Superman, even when he was dressed up like Clark Kent. But there was something else about Superman. He was invincible. I remember wanting to be invincible as a child. I wanted the power to have nothing affect me. I wanted to be bulletproof! I Wasn’t Expecting That!

If you’ve ever flown on a plane, you’ve undoubtedly heard the flight attendant say something like, “in the unlikely event of a water evacuation your seat bottom cushion can be used as a flotation device.” Why do they start a plane ride with these words? Broken Things

I’m not sure about you but so often I look at my life and realize that I am certainly not worthy to have the things I have. True I’ve worked hard to be where I am. I’ve gone to school and graduated with pretty good grades. I’ve held jobs I didn’t like and work some pretty killer hours to make a decent living, but these things don’t make me worthy. They just show my work ethic. When I talk worthy, I mean that I really don’t deserve the goodness that’s in my life.  Continue reading

Beautiful Things

I have to say my favorite time of year is just around the corner. The Fall is the season when the world, in my opinion, is at its peak. Few things are more beautiful than the feel of the cool morning air, the sound of people having fun outside, the color on the trees changing to vibrant shades of orange and red. Few things in life are more precious than the pink and purple highlights in the sky on one of those breathtaking sunsets (or for us morning people a striking sunrise). But one thing is significantly more beautiful than all of these.  Continue reading

Love Can…Go Anywhere

Many of us are going someplace new this fall. Some of us are going to a new school, others to college for the first time, some will have a new teacher, others a new neighbor or new house. While we can’t predict what new things will happen, we can be certain that new is always different and different is often a little frightening. Listen this week as Pastor Derrick wraps up our series titled LOVE Can by showing how Love Can Go Anywhere.
