There’s a pretty big fad pushing its way through our culture these days. It’s the trend of LifeCoaching. A Life Coach is someone who, for a relatively sizable sum of money, will walk you through some of life’s challenging moments and help you determine the proper trajectory on which your life should run. They help you determine something called a Life Plan. While their version may not be called exactly that, it will undoubtedly contain some basis for decision-making, what you want to be when you grow up, how to succeed, where you should apply yourself, etc. Continue reading
The Lord’s Prayer is a pretty powerful tool for many Christians. We pray it and often don’t really give it much thought whatsoever. Some of those words that we pray go like this thy kingdom come, thy will be done… What does it mean for God’s kingdom to come? Continue reading
It’s become increasingly evident that there’s a problem in the world today. There appears to be an issue that many people are facing, often without realizing!

What an embarrassing moment that was! Not too long ago, I was trying to get out the door to a store. I walked up to the door, admittedly not paying attention to what was in front of me. I grabbed the handle and pushed the door. It didn’t open, so I pushed a little harder. Then I jiggled the handle.
Wouldn’t you know it…the door was a pull door! I was so embarrassed that I can’t even put it into words. My face turned red. I played it off as if it was no big deal, but that didn’t change the fact that I missed the big red sign right in front of me that said PULL. Continue reading
It’s so easy to listen to the voices around you. It’s easy to hear what the world says to and about you. Over the past several months I’ve gotten to know a few people who for some reason believe the words the hear screamed at them from behind the mirror. This song is dedicated to them. This #musicmonday post is dedicated to those special people in my life who think they’re not enough, that they have to look prettier or act better – that they’ll never measure up. Continue reading
Where were you? Do you remember where you were on this day 15 years ago? Do you remember what you were doing when you heard the news on the day evil was unleashed on our nation? On a day marked by the numbers of our call for help (9/11) we were crippled in fear and horror. Yet we were energized by anger and hatred. How could someone do something so atrocious? Our stomachs ached as we watched the second plane plunge into the second tower. We crumbled when we heard of acts of heroism and valor. On that day we vowed, with no uncertainty, We will never forget!
