Shake

Mercy Me ShakeSometimes we need to shake things up a little. When we realize what happened to us when we realized God’s love for us, something should happen. When we receive the greatest gift ever given, there should be a change that happens in us.  Continue reading

despair

There seems to be an epidemic in the world today. It’s almost like the exodus event is happening in modern times just not with the same intended result. In the Old Testament, the people of God fled the oppression of their captors. But in our society it seems that our children’ are fleeing the loving and open arms of their savior. This fact is leaving many moms and dads confused, concerned and consumed by feelings of guilt. Where did we go wrong? What could we have done differently? Continue reading

Be An Echo

EchoI can remember as a child standing in a large, empty room and clapping my hands. I would do it to wait for the echo. I’m not sure why, but hearing an echo was so intriguing as a child. It was almost like there was something magical about an echo or like there was someone hidden in the room who was responding to me. But as I grew older I stopped caring as much about echoes. Maybe it’s because we’re so caught up in our own words that the echo seems less important. But perhaps an echo is exactly what is needed right now. Continue reading

Teaching Timothy Lesson 2

For whom do you pray? Do you pray for your family? Friends? What about your neighbors, even the ones you really don’t know? What about your co-workers going through rough times? All of these are great! But what about your enemies? How often  do you pray for your enemies? Paul teaches Timothy to pray for all people. Then he highlights rulers and those in authority. This week we should pray for our authorities and those running for office. Listen as Pastor Derrick explains why praying for them is so important.
